My sister passed away on May 8th, 2008. She left behind her daughter, my niece, Felicity. The best parts of my sister have been kept alive through her. The following poem was read at her funeral. Although I penned it, it was written by the Spirit. I share it now, so that her memory does not fade, and so that our hearts may continue to remember her goodness. It was written as if she were speaking to her Peek-a-Boo, Felicity.
To Felicity, My Peek-a-Boo
As you say goodbye today
Remember the good times along the way.
Forget the bad, though there were a few.
I can't remember them now, how bout you.
Remember the laughs, smiles and the fun.
Think if the times we played in the sun.
Remember this body, it is not me,
It is frail and it is weak, you see.
But my Spirit, it is, as strong as an ox,
It cannont be kept inside any box.
I know there will be times, when you will shed a tear,
But with the Lord at your side you need not to fear.
Granddaddy and I will watch from above,
Giving, Peek-a-Boo and Peache, all our Love.
When you born the angels did sing,
Felicity, your are my most perfect thing.
Your Daddy, he loves you and will take great care,
Because of you, Felicity, Love we did share.
To stay with you longer is something I wish,
But I hear my dad calling, "Toots, it's time to go fish"
Felicity, I have given you all of my best,
God has taken my cross, I am now at rest.
P.S. Remember I Love You and I am in your Heart, always.
----This is a Happy Heaven Day.
